Throughout her distinguished career, she brought literature into dialogue with a wide range of disciplines, deepening our understanding of the forces that have shaped modern society. Join us for the sixth lecture in this series which will be delivered by Professor Laurent Jaffro, Director of the Philosophy Doctoral School at the Université Panthéon Sorbonne, an Honorary Fellow of the Institut universitaire de France and the President of the Association des Sociétés de Philosophie de Langue Française. The lecture is entitled 'The Aberdonian Sense of Otherness: Alexander Gerard's Views on Taste' The lecture, in memory of Joan and celebrating her outstanding research acumen and ability to inspire others, will follow a drink’s reception in the James MacKay Hall at 5:15pm.
