The activities of the Trainee Accountant will be supervised by a line-manager and they will be required to attend regular review meetings to discuss their progress. In addition, a mentor will be appointed. The role of the mentor will be to act as a sounding board and to provide support and guidance to the Trainee Accountant during their training programme and to assist the individual in addressing any issues that may have a detrimental impact on their ability to successfully complete their training period. The role of the mentor will not conflict with the responsibilities of the designated line-manager.
