Time spent shadowing nearly all aspects of community care (district and practice nurses, HCA, CMH team, SPOA care, physio, podiatry, midwife, local and practice pharmacists) not only GPs which allowed me to see how they all interact and who is best to refer to in the community. Large amount of opportunities for practical skills (phlebotomy, urinalysis, injections, ECG, spirometry and peak flow) on many different body types preparing me for placements where I may be performing this on less well patietns.
Please suggest any improvements to this educational experience.

Dr Hannah Garvin GP at Aird Medical Practice I have nominated Dr Garvin as she allowed me to consult with patients in her clinics outwith my scheduled consultations on my timetable. This not only doubled my experience and quantity of patients I saw, but allowed me time to work under actual GP times and pressures (as my scheduled ones were 30mins while these were only 15mins). She also allowed me to work entirely independently and approach consultations as I wanted to helping with my ability to take focussed histories. Also, in the case of more complicated histories she regularly inquired about ideas from me which I appreciated and allowed us to work together for more thorough decision making which made me feel more like a clinician then a student, helping me to trust my knowledge of conditions and their management and how to explain this to patients. The feedback she provided was useful and easily implemented into what I was doing already and helped in my further consultations. She was open and very happy to answer my questions on conditions and her decision making giving me a better understanding as to how GPs approach things differently to secondary care.
