Course Overview

this course will provide you with a flavour of the ways in which scientific ideas can be commercialised;
the main aim of this course is to introduce you to the language of business and demystify some of the jargon that surrounds business models, intellectual property rights and finance;
this is the first in a 3 course option (year 1 or 2, year 3 and year 4) that can lead to you obtaining your BSc in a discipline of Medical Science with Bio-Business and open up a whole new range of career options for you

Course Description

The course will comprise a series of lectures and tutorials which will cover the "language" of biobusiness using a number of real case studies from companies in the medical sciences (e.g. What is a company? What is management? How do markets work? Decision making process).

Normally only available to level 1 or 2 students studying MSci/BSc degree programme disciplines taught within the School of Medical Sciences.

This course will be additional to the 120 level 1 or 2 credits required for the chosen degree programme.
