Duration: 12 months full-time or 24 months part-time (MLitt); 9 months full-time or 18 months part-time (PgDip) Aims: To provide integrated but flexible training at postgraduate level in Medieval Studies, through an interdisciplinary taught programme of courses. Part IV (MLitt only): HA 5903 History of Art Dissertation II: Research and Writing (60 credit points) Assessment: By course work, by written examination, or by a combination of these, as prescribed for each course. Candidates who proceed to Part IV will be required to submit a dissertation on a topic agreed in advance with their supervisor. The degree of MLitt shall not be awarded to a candidate who fails to complete HA 5903 at an appropriate standard (at least CAS mark of 9), irrespective of their performance in other courses. A Programme Monitoring Committee will scrutinise students' essay marks and adjudicate on their eligibility to proceed to the dissertation, with reference to their overall abilities, particularly in their primary research field.
