Duration: 12 months full-time or 24 months part-time (MLitt); 9 months full-time or 18 months part-time (PgDip). Aims: To provide integrated but flexible training at postgraduate level in Medieval Studies, through an interdisciplinary taught programme of courses. Content: Candidates are required to take courses from Part I, Part II and Part III and then proceed, if eligible, to the dissertation, which constitutes Part IV. Part IV (MLitt only): HI 5903 Medieval Dissertation II: Research & Writing (60 credit points) Assessment: By course work, by written examination, or by a combination of these, as prescribed for each course. Candidates who proceed to Part IV will be required to submit a dissertation on a topic agreed in advance with their supervisor. The degree of MLitt shall not be awarded to a candidate who fails to achieve a CAS mark of 9 in Medieval Dissertation II, irrespective of their performance in other courses.
