Duration: 12 months full-time or 24 months part-time (MSc); 9 months full-time (PgDip). Content: All students will follow the same taught course curriculum for the first semester, with examinations on the individual modules in January. On the basis of these examinations and self-directed learning exercise marks (major essay and presentation), students will either progress directly to the Laboratory based project for the second semester (MSc) or will undertake further taught modules and practical assignments until May (Pg Diploma). After further examinations the Pg Diploma students will undertake a 10-week laboratory based project. Thesis submission and oral presentations will take place in August. Students will also attend lectures from eminent visiting scientists to the Aberdeen Immunological Association and to the IMS lecture series. Short courses in Statistics, ethics and laboratory safety as well as careers advice will be available.
