Duration: 12 months full-time or 24 months part-time (MSc); 10 weeks full-time (PgCert). Content: The programme offers teaching on a wide range of subjects relevant to occupational health. It includes lectures, tutorials, practicals and work place visits. It is designed for those doctors who wish to practice occupational medicine and is especially suitable for those entering a career in occupational medicine. Candidates must complete the following designated programme of courses: For the Certificate EN 5013 Essay in Occupational Medicine (10 credit points) EN 5017 Occupational Medicine, Hygiene and Toxicology (25 credit points) EN 5018 Occupational Medicine, Statistics and Law (25 credit points) GS 50M1 Generic Skills (0 credit points): October-December SK 5003 Information Skills (0 credit points): October-November For the MSc All of the above courses for the Certificate (with a CAS mark greater than 12 in all modules) plus EN 5505 Project in Occupational Medicine (120 credit points) Assessment: By a combination of written examinations and course work, as prescribed for each course and by submission of a dissertation for MSc candidates. The degree of MSc shall not be awarded to a candidate who fails to achieve a CAS mark of 9 or above in EN 5505, irrespective of their performance in other courses.
