This programme aims to train future leaders in the perspectives, skills and decision-making tools needed to bring partnership actors together, and so build collaborative capacity. The courses prescribed below are intended to: Develop the core knowledge of economic, environmental and social concepts, combined with the practical business skills, required for managing and leading public-private partnerships within and across a number of scales and sectors. Bring new perspectives and knowledge to the policy and corporate processes needed to forge innovative and more effective paths towards sustainable development. Bring together different disciplinary perspectives geography, economics, politics, sociology, law, management and marketing required to develop skills in collaborative multi-actor arrangements. Qualifications for entry: Candidates will normally have an upper second class Honours degree or equivalent in Geography, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Business Management or a cognate subject, Mature students with appropriate professional experience who do not meet the normal entry requirements may also be considered (guidance regarding entrance requirements can be obtained from the Programme Director). Given the intensive format of the degree, motivation will be an important factor in selection. The Programme Director will pay particular attention to academic references and applicants will be encouraged to visit the School where possible. Duration: 12 months full-time or normally 24 months part-time (MSc) Content: Candidates shall be required to take the following designated courses unless, in the opinion of the Head of the School of Geosciences, they have already passed the equivalent of any designated course to a satisfactory standard for another degree. Such candidates may be required to select a substitute course(s) of equal credit value, approved by the Head of School.
