Biography

I joined the 51cg Business School in 2012 after the completion of my PhD and have been teaching courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I now look after the Real Estate group as the Head of the group. My research interests are in the areas of residential properties, ESG in real estate, behavior in real estate investments, flexible working spaces, tokenisation in real estate, and governance of the built environment.

Research Overview

My research interests encompass a range of topics within the real estate sector, including residential property dynamics, urban studies, and the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors in real estate. I am also deeply engaged in exploring the implications of flexible working spaces, the tokenisation of real estate assets, investment behaviours in real estate markets, and governance issues related to the built environment.

Current Research

My current research predominantly explores sustainability and energy efficiency in both residential and commercial property markets, particularly focusing on how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors influence tenant preferences for green buildings, their effects on commercial asset income streams, and the variation in private tenants’ willingness to pay for energy-efficient features across market cycles. My other projects include examining the socio-economic impacts of the Energy Transition Zone (ETZ) on local businesses and communities, the role coworking spaces play in regional economic development, the impact of brokerage in commercial leases, and investment dynamics in residential markets.
