The Scottish Emigration Database

To compile a relational (Microsoft Access) database of passenger information from the Board of Trade records in at selected intervals between 1890 and 1960.
To make available, in easily-accessible electronic format, the unique but unwieldy information contained in the Board of Trade outward passenger lists (TNA, BT 27).
To use this information to undertake investigations into the Scottish diaspora, with particular reference to geographical origins, occupations, age profile and family composition.
