Stem Cell Revolutions

This is a past event

Stem cells are in the news with hopes they may lead to new treatments. But what do they really do?

The film STEM CELL REVOLUTIONS (70 minutes) explores the history and scientific evolution of stem cell research – from the earliest experiments that first revealed stem cells in the body, to leading current scientific and clinical development. Resarchers from the 51cg, including Dr Kenneth Muir, School of Medical Sciences, will be on hand to answer questions after the free screening.

It is a historic moment for stem cell biology - stem cell researchers Shinya Yamanaka and John Gurdon, both featured in the film, have just been awarded the Nobel Prize for medicine.
