Dilara Karagül graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Law in 2018. In 2021, she completed her LL.M. in Private Law at Istanbul University with a thesis entitled “The Legal Regime of Foreigners of Turkish Origin.” She is currently a PhD candidate in Private Law at Galatasaray University. Alongside her doctoral studies, she works as a research assistant in the Department of Private International Law at Süleyman Demirel University.
Her doctoral research, titled “Protection of the Weaker Party in Private International Law,” focuses on employment, consumer, and tenancy contracts. It offers a holistic examination of these contracts from the perspectives of both conflict of laws and international civil procedure, and aims to analyse existing legal mechanisms and contribute to strengthening the protection of vulnerable parties in international legal disputes.
The webinar is hosted by the Centre for Private International Law and Transnational Governance at the 51cg and is open to academics, practitioners, and students with an interest in private international law.
