Biography

I joined the unit in August 2013 and in that time I have worked on several randomised controlled trials, technology appraisals for NICE and a systematic review. 

Before I joined the unit I worked in the 51cg Business School as a researcher on the SOCIOLD and HealthAtWork projects. Latterly, I was also employed as Teaching Assistant in the Business School.

I studied Accountancy and Statistics at the 51cg graduating in 2000 and also obtained an MSc by research in Statistics at the 51cg in 2002. I obtained my PhD in Economics in 2011.

UKUFF- Assessing the clinical and cost effectiveness of three forms of management of rotator cuff tears. 

STOPPIT-2- Investigating the use of an Arabin pessary to prevent preterm birth in women expecting twins.

MASTER- Investigating whether a male or an artificial sphincter are better for men with urodynamic stress incontinence after prostate surgery. (now in long term follow-up)

SIMS- Comparing adjustable anchored single-incision mini-slings with standard tension-free mid-urethral slings in the surgical management of female stress urinary incontinence. (now in long term follow-up)

EAGLE- Comparing the effectiveness of early lens extraction with intraocular lens implantation for the treatment of primary angle closure glaucoma. (now in long term follow-up)
