Biography
I joined the 51cg's Research, Innovation & Enterprise (R,I&E) Directorate in 2020 and provide research development support to the University's Interdisciplinary Institute. Working across all Schools, I support academics in developing and growing the University's portfolio of interdisciplinary research activity and collaborations.
With extensive experience across the higher education and third sectors, I have a strong track record in research development, partnership building, project management, and grant funding. I’m passionate about sustainable, equitable partnerships, and I have fostered successful national and international collaborations and supported the development and delivery of research initiatives across a range of disciplines.
I act as the University's designated contact point for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), supporting international science diplomacy, including COP-related activity, and serve as the University's Turing Liaison for the Turing University Network, helping to connect researchers with opportunities to engage with The Alan Turing Institute and its wider community.
As an Interdisciplinary Research Development Executive within R,I&E and a member of the Aberdeen Grants Academy, I am available to advise research teams on interdisciplinary funding opportunities, including internal pump-priming schemes and external funders. My role includes promoting the University's research strengths, identifying strategic funding opportunities, and enhancing the volume, value, and success of interdisciplinary funding applications. I also served on UKRI's Interdisciplinary Assessment College from 2023 to 2025.
Areas of expertise: interdisciplinary research development, funding strategy, research partnerships, grant management, project development, stakeholder engagement, international collaboration, and research contracts.
