Biography

Euan joined the School of Law as a lecturer in March 2019 and has been heavily involved in teaching across the LLB programme since then. He has contributed to many courses on the LLB both as a lecturer (e.g. for Delict & Unjustified Enrichment (LS1536), Foundations of Private Law (LS1022) and Commercial & Consumer Contracts (LS3032)) and as a tutor (e.g. for Introduction to Comparative Law (LS2536)). His teaching includes both Ordinary and Honours courses. Examples of the latter include Delict Honours (LS/LX402X), Unjustified Enrichment Honours (LS/LX452N) and Family Law Honours (LS/LX401V). Euan is currently the Deputy Coordinator of the LLB programme. 

Euan's research interests lie mainly in the Scots law of obligations. He has a particular interest in cautionary obligations, as well as certain branches of the law of non-contractual obligations (e.g. rights of relief and unjustified enrichment). In 2026, his monograph (entitled Cautionary Obligations and Rights of Relief) was published by the Edinburgh Legal Education Trust as part of their Studies in Scots Law series. In addition to teaching and research, Euan has made a number of contributions to the administrative life of the School of Law, e.g. as part of the admissions team and the academic disciplinary team. 

Internal Memberships

Euan is an Associate Director of the Centre for Scots Law and the Honorary Secretary of the Aberdeen Student Law Review. 

Current Research

Euan is currently engaged in various research projects concerning rights of relief, building on what he explored in his recently published monograph.
