PhD student currently researching swimming performance, using a kinematic camera system and machine learning.

Current Research
How depth influences dive start, push start and tumble turn performance with respect for time taken to perform these skills, joint kinematics and active drag.
Using the kinematic camera system in ASV's 50m swimming pool. The camera system is the only one in the UK that is made up of 28 cameras, both above and below the water surface, spanning the full 50m.
Looking to develop novel methods for analysing swimmers technique to over come the time constraints of manual digitisation using machine learning.
Systematic review titled "The impact of depth on passive drag and freestyle dive start, tumble turn and push start performance for competitive swimmers: a systematic review."
Past Research
MSc in biomechanics from Manchester Metropolitan University, with my dissertation focussing in inter- and intra-operator reliability in manual digitisation of swimmers (supervised by Prof Carl Payton).
Knowledge Exchange
Scottish Swimming and work with UoA performance swimmers. Performance tracking for the 51cg's performance swim team
