Research

Research Overview

My research focuses on using electronic health records to investigate characteristics of stroke patients, risk factors for stroke, medication use before and after stroke, and clinical outcomes after stroke, with particular interest in intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH). I also have a strong interest in pharmacy practice and patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) in health and social care research.

2. An exploration of Direct Oral Anticoagulant therapy, BLeeding Events and anticoagulant reversal treatment in Grampian: a service evaluation and outcomes analysis (DO-ABLE) – Funded by AstraZeneca 

3. Patient characteristics and clinical outcomes in patients with intracerebral haemorrhage in NHS Grampian: A Data-Linkage Study - Funded by NHS Grampian Charity Small Research Grants 

4. Public Health Scotland – Risk factor profiles of stroke patients to inform Scottish Government (SG) policies on secondary prevention - Funded by SG
