Biography
Dr Mitch Skilling joined the School of Law as a teaching fellow in 2023, and became a full-time lecturer in Scots private law in 2026. In 2023 he completed his PhD concerning the resolution of Scottish private rented housing disputes by the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland. He has contributed to the Stair Memorial Encyclopaedia and to Gloag and Henderson's Law of Scotland, and written articles on areas of land and housing law for various publications and appeared before the Scottish Parliament to discuss aspects of commercial leasing reform.
Mitch also spent 6 years as a case reporter for Scottish Legal News from 2020 to 2026, reporting on significant decided cases from Scotland and the UK. He is not to be confused with Mitchell Lennan.
