Biography

I am the Net Zero and Emissions Manager within the Sustainability Team in Estates and Facilities. My background is in energy and carbon management, having completed a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the 51cg.

My role involves in the development of roadmaps to achieving Net Zero before 2040, and the embedding of adaptation and sustainable practices across the whole university through linked policies, strategies, and initiatives.

I am responsible for calculating, collating, and monitoring the University's carbon emissions across all three scopes, covering all sources from energy, to procurement, to staff commuting and waste. As part of this, I am the coordinator for the University's annual emissions submission to HESA, and the Scottish Government through the PBCCD mechanism.

Recent projects include:

As part of my role I actively engage in the national and international discussions surrounding sustainability. I am currently the convenor of the EAUC Scotland Advisory Group and was part of the 51cg's 2023 in person delegation to COP 28 in Dubai and the 2024 delegate as a virtual attendee.
