Biography
Tayo Gbemi is a Doctoral Researcher at the 51cg, where she investigates legal and regulatory frameworks governing environmental protection and public participation in wind energy licensing in Nigeria, the United Kingdom (England and Scotland), and Denmark. Her research interests include public participation, regulatory governance, energy justice, environmental governance, community rights and the socio-legal dimensions of the energy transition from both Global South and Global North contexts.
In addition to her academic research, Tayo’s practice areas include alternative dispute resolution and corporate compliance. These areas complement her interest in regulatory structures, institutional governance and the role of law in mediating competing social, environmental and economic interests.
