Postgraduate Virtual Open Day

Our Postgraduate Virtual Open Day (PG VOD) will take place on Thursday 1 October. Join us, speak with our academics and students, and find out about life at Aberdeen.

Introduction

Our MSc Sport, Health and Wellness Management is a pioneering postgraduate programme that brings together two of the 51cg's areas of greatest strength: our internationally recognised expertise in sport and exercise science, medical sciences and nutrition, and our business school's core competencies in management, marketing, finance and human resources.

This is the first postgraduate programme in Scotland and the UK to combine health and wellness with sport management, equipping you to work across a sector that is evolving rapidly as individuals and organisations rethink how they exercise, eat and manage their health.

This MSc is jointly delivered by the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition (SMMSN) and the Business School, giving you the best of both worlds: scientific grounding in exercise physiology, nutrition and athlete health alongside the management, marketing and finance skills needed to succeed in sport, health and wellness organisations of any size, or as an entrepreneur in your own right.

You will be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials and hands-on laboratory sessions, supported by guest lectures and field trips connecting you to entrepreneurial and business organisations working across the sport, health and wellness sector. A dedicated design project lets you apply both your business and science knowledge to a real-world problem, developing a solution and the business case to support it. The taught element is complemented by a substantial work-based placement project, giving you direct experience to build your confidence and employability.
