Julián Hernández will speak on gaita, a genre of folk music from Venezuela often heard at Christmas and the New Year. It features complex rhythms played on instruments like the furro drum, maracas, cuatro, tambora, and charrasca. Thanks to musicians like Julián and the band Abergaitas, gaita is now part of the musical world of Aberdeen.
