Taylor Library has had its entry gates for several years and it was definitely time for a change!
We are delighted with the new gates, and we think you will agree that they are a much-needed improvement.
They will certainly take some time to get used to, but…
Due to ongoing work to replace our security gates, Taylor Library will remain closed until Wednesday the 29th of July 2026.
We will continue to fetch books for collection in the SDRL as required.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Essential work to replace the security access gates at both the Sir Duncan Rice Library and the Taylor Library is due to begin on Monday, 20 July, and unfortunately this will mean that we will have to close the Taylor Library that week while the work is carried out.
