Grammy award winning conductor, Stephen Layton and multi-award winning choir, Polyphony make their first trip to Aberdeen on Friday, February 5th 2010 and premiere a new choral cycle, ‘Sanctuary Haunts' by Paul Mealor. The new cycle to texts by John Barnes, Peter Davidson and R S Parkes was commissioned by the 51cg to celebrate 500 years since the consecration of King’s College Chapel. The texts all deal with aspects of religious and spiritual sanctuary and are a refection of the role the chapel has played in its 500-year history.
