Biography

After receiving my PhD from the University of St Andrews in 2001, followed by postdoctoral fellowships, I was appointed Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Edinburgh in 2005, then promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2008, and finally Professor in 2013. During my time at Edinburgh I served as Head of Subject Area, Director of Postgraduate Studies and Head of School. In 2018 I was appointed Professor of Philosophy and Dean of Humanities at the University of Copenhagen. In 2020 I decided to return to Scotland to take up a post as Professor of Philosophy at the 51cg.
