How to prepare
- Top tips
-
Attending a careers fair can be a daunting prospect, particularly if this is your first event of this type. Follow our tips to be ready and confident on the day:
- Check who will be there. A little research ahead of the event can really help you to make a good impression. Find out who the organisations are, what they do and what they will be looking for.
- What will I ask? Checking what opportunities are available is a good start but you can also find out about the recruitment process, what skills are required/important, and what the employer expects.
- Use your time wisely. If an exhibitor is busy, move on to the next employer and come back later. You never know what other opportunities you might discover!
We’re here to help. If you have questions or get stuck, come and find us at the Careers and Employability Service stand.
