The German Filmklub will be showing the documentary 'Elfriede Jelinek: Language Unleashed' (Claudia Müller, 2022, 96mins). The film focusses on the 2004 Nobel Prize for Literature laureate. Shown with English subtitles. Film certification 12.

Weekly maths & stats support drop-in session: pop into room FN115 for help and advice on the maths and stats in your courses. Come in on your own or with peers, anytime between 2-4pm, and stay for as long or as little as you need.

Here we will discuss 4 key themes for better writing: Habits (developing good practice); Blocks (overcoming procrastination); Protect (ensure regular academic writing time); Social (writing with others).  This session aims to encapsulate these aspects and provide practical advice on how to write more productively. Hopefully, participants will also share across disciplines, their various strategies around these themes.

This live Teams session will cover they key aspects in planning, designing and delivering a presentation. We will discuss content but also, crucially, communication skills to ensure you present in a clear and impactful way e.g., confidence, tone, eye contact, body language, as well as how to engage with the audience...
