Unwind on Wednesdays after a busy day as the Chapel Choir sing the beautifully reflective service of Compline.

This will be an interactive online session (Teams) to stress the importance of writing with a reader in mind. To engage the reader, writing should be logical, coherent and clearly argued. We will explore the importance of accurate spelling, paragraph structure and construction of argument as a group.

Weekly maths & stats support drop-in session: pop into room FN185 for help and advice on the maths and stats in your courses. Come in on your own or with peers, anytime between 12 and 2, and stay for as long or as little as you need.

Here we will discuss 4 key themes for better writing: Habits (developing good practice); Blocks (overcoming procrastination); Protect (ensure regular academic writing time); Social (writing with others). This session aims to encapsulate these aspects and provide practical advice on how to write more productively. Hopefully, participants will also share across disciplines, their various strategies around these themes.

This online session will cover advice on how to make the best use of your time studying for essay-based and long answer exams. We will also discuss strategies for the exam / assessment itself. This session is generic but suitable for all types of on-campus/online/open book etc exams or final assessments.
